The Melanie & Daniel musical duo was formed in December of 2010. Since then, the duo has played all over Hattiesburg and other places around the Southeast. The duo performs pop and jazz music, with an eclectic song list that offers something for everyone.
Vocalist Melanie Gardner began singing in choirs and musicals as a child, and continued to do so through high school, college and beyond. A classically trained opera and musical theater singer and an experienced actress, Melanie is no stranger to performing in front of a crowd. She developed her love of jazz in high school as a pianist, and has continued to embrace it as a singer, now performing jazz and pop as often as she does classical and musical theater.
Guitarist Daniel Schroeder was introduced to jazz at a young age by his grandfather, a trumpeter and band leader in Chicago during the big band era. He has played in a variety of ensembles ranging from classical to country, and continues to play classical guitar in addition to pop and jazz. Daniel is in high demand as a guitarist in south Mississippi and around the southeast.
